- providing information literacy lessons
- providing access to information in a variety of formats
- encouraging interest in reading
- promoting the use of the media center for a variety of uses
- supporting the school's overall mission, curriculum and reading initiatives
- working to develop educational strategies that support the needs of teachers and students
